Wreckwatch – First Read

August 29, 2020

It is great to see Sean Kingsley still working like a maniac and what does he have to show for it? Well, for one, a beautiful new webzine: Wreckwatch. In the first issue, Dr. Kingsley treats us to tons of juicy delights from the deep sea realm. Nerds, brace yourselves for an epic excursion into the life subaquatic.

In the first issue we are treated to the current debate about recovering the Marconi wireless from the Titanic (it’s not just a movie, you know!), featured articles about the world’s first wreck divers in Whitsable, England, virtual dive trails, and endless eye candy on exotics, trade, and catastrophe. As with with his previous work, Kingsley’s prose is both readable and informative and I have no doubt that students and professionals alike will appreciate the accessibility and truly solid research. This volume is simply packed with information – it is an absolute gold mine presented in an attractive format, with excellent illustrations and shows how much work the editor put into this project. If you are a teacher, an enthusiast, or a specialist who wants to see what is happening around the world, I highly recommend you take a look at Wreckwatch. It’s a delight from start to finish.

I hope to see many more issues of Wreckwatch in the future. Best of luck, Sean in this exciting new venture!
